Gravel Traveling and a bunch of Random

Well… I’ve been lucky enough to get to do a little bit of gravel traveling and have been inspired to just take some pictures–

So here is a little mix of this and that for your viewing pleasure.

World of Wheels–Kansas City

I had the most incredible opportunity this weekend to shoot the motorcycles sponsored by Gail’s Harley Davidson at the 51st Annual World of  Wheels car show at Bartle Hall.

Chickey of  Chickey’s Gravel Travels, recommended me as a photographer to Victor Garcia–who is so awesome–and who gave me the opportunity to step in as photographer.

I want to send a BIG thanks to Victor, Manny, Joseph and “Jay,” aka Mike who made this whole weekend possible–I also want to thank Gail, John, Laura, and the rest of the Gail’s folks who made me feel like a part of the group all weekend!

My biggest thanks, however goes out to those of you who supported FatMonkey Snapshots by purchasing copies of the disks available at the show.  The contestants that I had the pleasure of meeting this weekend were so fantastic–I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to spend 4 days with!!

Enough yammering–let’s get to it:

“Psycho de Clown”…

…And “G Tyme”

Welcome, baby Josie!

Congratulations to the Metzger / Beard family on the newest addition–baby Josie!

Saturday before last, I got to invade their home (once again) and snap pictures for a little while…

You guys are just awesome! Lady and I had a BLAST!

For your viewing pleasure.

Bridget–You’re a beautiful person inside and out always remember that!

I also want to extend a special thanks to the King / Bolejack family.  Thank you for being such wonderful people…. thank you for allowing me to capture your family moments on three separate occasions now.  And thank you for being some of the most photogenic folks I’ve met to date…

Jamie Cox you have a GREAT group of people around you and thanks for allowing me to be a special part of it.

Enjoy!

Fun with sun flare part 1….

Fun with sun flare part 2

Silly Uncle Larry…

Bridget and Jamie were such good sports…  Chickey and I saw the tree and had a vision… Thank goodness Bridget was willing to be our guinea pig and climb into it for some FANTASTIC shots!!

She really didn’t kick her father in the face like it appears she did… but I couldn’t help myself and had to include this one!

And back out of the tree—this was a MUCH smoother process than getting into the tree I may add

Bridget King / Senior Teasers

Bridget made her debut here back in August when she was in her cousin Jamie’s wedding.  Back again and gorgeous as ever… may I present the beautiful Bridget King and some teasers from our wonderful afternoon of senior portraits!

Chickey, of http://www.chickeypics.smugmug.com/ and I had the pleasure of capturing this beauty this past Saturday.  We were so excited afterward that we rushed home to “nerd out” with our laptops and editing software.

More to come soon!

We kept telling her to give us her “sassy face…” she kept saying she didn’t know what that was… I beg to differ

What a beautiful family.

Dad trying to pull his little girl right out of the tree!

Sara Metzger / Maternity Session

Welcome, baby Josie!  I can’t wait to meet you!

OH… and forgive me as a few of the images below are repeats from the teaser–I didn’t realize I had put them in twice until I was over 1/2 way done uploading them… You can just enjoy them twice!

Maternity Teasers

The lovely Sara and her gorgeous daughters, Audrey and Kailey were SO.MUCH.FUN to spend time with last week.  Check out these gorgeous babes (and Auntie Kati, too).

And get ready for some blog – post overload…  More to come later today!

Wedded Bliss

A good friend of mine got married this past Sunday.  I was offered the position of second shooter at the wedding, and was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to shoot the bride and her wedding party prior to the wedding while they prepared for the big day.

Here is a small sampling of a beautiful bride with her gorgeous wedding party…I can’t tell you how wonderful it was to work with these girls.  Not only are they all gorgeous, they were so tolerant of us and funny to boot!

Getting “glammed” up to look hot for their dates…

Falsies!

‘Bama, the hair stylist, had everyone in stitches the entire morning

And of course, the mother of the bride.  Poor mom showed up a tad on the late side as she was at the ceremony site preparing while everyone else was getting ready.

My Word…. this had to have been the MOST beautiful wedding dress I think I’ve ever seen…. I thought it was pretty before the blushing bride adorned it–but after she slipped into (or was bound into it, rather) it it got BETTER.

How bout that bling, eh?

I heard somewhere that Ms. Jamie “likes big rocks…”  Apparently so.

Big Texas hair

Sultry treats for the groom to enjoy

Gorgeous, gorgeous gorgeous

Suck it in!

Mom’s first view of the bride after the finishing touches have been made

Work it, girl!

Sassy and she knows it

Matron of Honor…

Wait, who invited Audrey Hepburn?

The star of the day

I told them to give me their sassiest faces….  Well done, girls

I feel so privileged to have been able to take part in such a special day of one of my good friends.  She is an amazing person and she was a STUNNING bride…. Not to mention she had models hired to pose as a wedding party.  No… she just has beautiful friends and family.

My first wedding experience was fun, scary, nerve racking, and … most of all so rewarding.

Love you, Baby Bolejack.. aka Bolecox.. aka Aunt Jamal.  Congratulations!!!

Gravel Travels

A few weeks back I had the pleasure of taking a few hours on a Monday night to do some driving around with a good friend of mine.

Chickey–of Chickey’s Gravel Travels (check her out: mygraveltravels.wordpress.com) and I went out and about traveling around Johnson County and had a fabulous time and ended up getting some great shots.

Enjoy!

The clouds in the distance almost remind me of mountain tops

This little fella tried to eat my foot… good thing he only took a chunk of my flop–doesn’t look too happy does he?

A “C” For Chickey!!!

While I’ve Been Absent…

OK so it has been practically FOREVER since I’ve last posted (for real)…  However I have kept myself busy.

Here are some shots from my second (ever) portriat session.  My man and his brothers gave these to their mama for Mother’s day…  She cried. :)
